Non-Composite Deck
SDI & UL Certified • Grade 50 Standard • Custom Cut-to-Fit
Non-composite metal deck serves as a permanent steel form for concrete slabs without bonding to the concrete. It provides a cost-effective and structurally reliable solution when composite action is not required by the structural design.
Available Profiles
1.5" Non-Composite Deck
Lightweight and robust formwork for standard floor slabs and mezzanine systems. Provides adequate structural support with minimal material weight.
2" Non-Composite Deck
Higher load capacities and greater spans compared to the 1.5" profile. Increased stability for medium-to-large-scale industrial floor applications.
3" Non-Composite Deck
Maximum span and load-bearing capacity. Ideal for heavy-duty projects including industrial floors, parking garages, and building renovations.

Frequently Asked Questions
Non-composite deck (Type WF) serves as a permanent steel form for concrete floor slabs. Unlike composite deck, it does not bond structurally with the cured concrete — the slab carries loads independently on the steel form. It provides cost-effective, permanent formwork with no stripping required after the pour.
Non-composite deck is the right choice when the structural design does not require composite action — for example, in ground-floor slabs, heavy industrial platforms, mezzanine systems, parking garages, or when the concrete thickness alone provides sufficient load capacity per your engineer of record.
We supply non-composite deck in 1.5", 2", and 3" profiles in gauges 16 through 22, available in Galvanized G60 or G90 finish. All profiles are Grade 50 steel as standard — even when lower grades are specified.
Non-composite deck is generally the more economical choice for applications where composite structural action is not required by the design. Since no special embossing is needed for bonding, it can reduce material costs on appropriate projects. Our team can help you identify the most cost-effective profile for your specific job.
